My first karwachauth

First karwa chauth is very special occasions in newly married woman. She celebrate this auspicious fast with all her love and conviction for the first time in her life. This fast can also be done by unmarried girls but the real love and passion for your husband give you extra strength and that special feeling to complete this fast.

I was very excited for my first karwa chauth after my marriage. I never kept karwa chauth before marriage, my cousins and many of friends kept karwa chauth but i didn't.

In first karwa chauth newly married woman get suhag set from her mayaka.
My mom prepared the suhag set for me to keep my first karwa chauth wich includes karwa(pital), new sari, bangls, bindi, sindoor, kajal, mehndi (hina), jewellery (optional), Alta (mahaur/rangna) and some sweets. My mom gave me this suhag set two day before my karwa chauth fast.

After getting suhag set from my mom, day karwa chauth i got mehndi done on my hands and feets. Put alta on my foot. That day i did not had dinner of my own, my husband fed me.

I woke up at 3.30 in the morning and took a bath to cleanse my self for the auspicious day. After i got redy n wear new sari my mother-in-law prepared sargi for me to eat and start my fast. I had sargi and took blessing from my mother-in- law by touching her feets. I was supposed to complete my sargi before 4 in the morning because after my karwa chauth fast starts. As per hindu manyata day starts at 4 in the morning so the fast also starts in bhor ( early morning)

I took some rest and visited shankar & parvati mandir near my place with my husband and mother-in-law. Took blessing from god for my husband and our relationship.

I prepared my karwa chauth pooja thali which include kawa filled with water, supari, sava rupya, haldi, kumkum and flower and pital ka lota filled with gehu( wheat) on top of it katori filled with sugar and put diya on it, followers,

In the afternoon did karwa chauth kath and pooja vidhi with my neighbor bhabhi and some other married women. We all listened kath and the started singing and rotating karwa for seven times and we stopped when we all received aur karwa back.

In the evening got ready for evening pooja by wearing my wedding clothes and jewellery just like i got ready on my wedding day.

After moon appeared in the sky my whole family went to terrace for my first karwa chauth pooja. I first did darshan of moon from chalni and diya on it made of aate ki loi which i decorated from own hand, gave jal to moon from karwa and did aarti of moon, then look my husbands face then thrown that diya on my back side (you should never look back that diya because you removed nazar of you huband) and now did the aarti of my huband , did seven chakra from my right hand in same place with giving jal from karwa.

Now gave jal on my hubands feet giving all my love and care, then he gave me sweet to eat from his hand and water from silver glass to drink and now my fast is complete.

Both of us took blessing from my Mother-in-law and Father- in-law by touching their feet. I gave 12 different type of sweet and new saree to my Mother-in-law and took bless(it is believed that you should give sweet and gift to the oldest woman in the house to complete the fast).

We all went back home n had dinner together. I gave first byte from my plate to my husband and my husband gave my first byte from his plate.

And thats how i completed my first karwa chauth. It really very special occasion if celebrate it in special way.
